Innopen Medical Micro-Needling

WHAT IS INNOPEN MEDICAL MICRO-NEEDLING?

Medical Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a growing area in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars, pigmentation, cellulite and hair loss.

During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with a softening and reduction in lines and wrinkles. Innopen creates superficial micro-channels which allow customized nutrient serums chosen based on desired outcome to be absorbed more effectively into the skin enhancing treatment outcomes.

Benefits of Innopen Medical Micro-Needling

The benefits of micro-needling are a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. Innopen also has a very positive effect on hyper-pigmentation, scarring and stretch marks and generally creates a refreshed and brightened look to the skin. The healing response which begins immediately upon the treatment kick-starts a healing process that last for several months, and up to a year. This natural healing process is where all the magic happens

InnoPen Treatment Experience

Topical numbing cream is applied 30 minutes prior to each treatment. The sensation  associated with the Innopen ranges from sandpaper being moved across the skin, to more sensitive rapid pinching and mild irritation.   While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort and makes the treatment more tolerable. Pinpoint bleeding is common and combined with the topical serum

Post Treatment

Immediately after the treatment the skin will be red and the pinpoint bleeding that occurs during the treatment is mixed in with the topical serum and left on the skin to continue to provide nutrient benefits. Some minor swelling and bruising is also possible. The total healing time depends on the depth of needles used and the number of overlapping passes. On average, patients experience mild redness and swelling between two to four days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.

Treatment Plans & Results

Treatment plans typically consist of a series of five sessions with the first three treatments spaced two weeks apart and the last two treatments spaced four weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, stretch marks or deeper acne scars it is recommended to receive six to eight sessions at two to four week intervals.

After healing post treatment patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after the treatment as collagen and elastic production continues.

Further benefits can be achieved and maintained through custom micro-needling rollers and products for home care.
